It's a Tuesday

Happening update.

First things first: Allie Mace came over!
And we had Oreos (times about 100) and Peanut Butter and went adventuring and laughed until we cried and played games and cooked and such. It was a good time, most definitely.

We took her out to see the farm...

 Our gate boy.

 She was clearly entranced.

And then went in to see Charlotte's Web! Fabulous day.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2. Go see it. So. Many. Food. Puns. :D
Plus, with this group, anything is twice as funny.

 Poster mimicking. To the left.

Pretty successful, no??

I like to think we're better than the original.

Today was marvelously foggy. I love foggy, chilly, damp days. They are perfect for exploring and obviously perfect for playing poor kids. So, I had to find an adventure for this day.

I grabbed my faithful side kicks and we went to invade the persimmon trees! We gathered a basketful and fought through all the thorns and high places...

 Expert tree-climber.

These are the greatest minions a girl could ask for.

Ready for washing, seeding, pureeing, seasoning, boiling, and canning!

Alrighty, lots of work, but so much fun, and completely worth it. The sidekicks are now enjoying the fruits of our labor on warm toast.
A successful expedition for this foggy, chilly day!

Lateliness

Enjoy some pictures from recent escapades....

Evan playing at Grandma Jeannie and PaPa's house -
Look how big the guy is!
We celebrated this big man's first birthday last month.

Theater time with the J's!

The boys making paper mache snowmen.(the finished product to be posted soon)

Driving through the beautiful Christmas light display at the park with Daddy and the kids - the cow was an especial favorite.

Yummy Christmas goodies! Mint Fudge, made by moi. (I don't do much baking, so I was pretty happy when the little boys declared them to be "beast." I believe that means they're good.)

Night of fun at the Brown's, including a bonfire, closeup view of the moon through Adam's telescope, a good game of signs, and lots of laughs.

Raindrops.

A very exciting Wal-Marting adventure, including a Kelly Brown sighting!

 My little sisters!

 Small brother.

Webcam with the Eldest Sis and Bro over.

 Oliver Rehearsals!

My sidekick child, the boy after my own heart.

peeny butter fudge

One of the kids favorite stories was inside a Cheerios box, called "Peeny Butter Fudge." It's about a really awesome grandmother who comes to babysit and makes fudge with the kids. In the back of the book is a recipe for her wonderful fudge, and seeings how I was to be babysitting them the next morning we decided before bed that we should make it in the morning.
And...well, that's what we did.
Meet the chefs.

So excited to taste the deliciousness!

Do you like our Steak'n'Shake hats? We do.

"Say cheese, Meggy!"

*drum roll* Peany. Butter. Fudge.
Oh, I should also include that Kung Fu Fighting(among other songs on our fabulous cooking playlist) was playing as progress-cooking-dance-music.

Taste checkers. It is now setting up in the fridge, and we decided to take a break from our hard work and watch some Veggie Tales. Oh, the good times with these kiddos!

I'm pretty sure it's just us..

Are you ready for the story?
We were both born in different parts Florida, where we lived  until we were about three, but we never knew each other. We both moved to the same part of Missouri and that's when our families met.
I thought Tessie Hamacher was the most fantastict little girl ever, but oh so snooty and bossy! Well it turns out, she thought the same of me. We kind of avoided each other whenever we saw one another, until we were both cast in Fine Linen Drama's You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown when we were nine years old, both as "Lucy"..go figure. We actually became friends and one night at a rehearsal I asked her to be my pen pal - we wrote little notes to give each other at every practice, and in her first note she asked me if I wanted to be best friends forever.
Bunches of adventures and laughs and sleepovers and pictures and hugs and stories later, we're still best friends and now having a blast in our 10th show together. Isn't that a precious story? But truly. She's stuck with me through thick and thin, good and bad, has seen my best and worst, and I couldn't ask for a better friend. I love her bunches, and plan on many, many more years of being "friends forever!"
