It's a Wednesday

(found this picture in the old files...awe, I love you gals! We need to get together soon. Hey...Patriot Day Plans?!?:)

Top of the morning, middle of the week, 2nd half of the year! What a good day. ;)
Whoohoo, school is done way before lunch---now what to do with myself??! Just kidding...there is WAY too much to do around here. I will definitely be busy. That's the nice thing about a flexible schedule...get school done, and have the rest of the day for your other things on the "To Do List." (you really don't know what you're missing, Connor chuz..lol..although I'm still waiting for that banner and being kidnapped in a pillowcase...;)
Ah, I have so much to tell you all, but I need to skitter and get on to other things at present. Also, I won't be there this evening for any of you that would be at LBC, so I suppose I shall wait till Sunday. I miss you all very much, and hope to see you soon! Have a wonderfully happy day, all!

Till next time,
Meg

Lately..

Last night was great fun. Joel, Ash, and Carl came over and we had a lovely evening. Good food, a nice walk, brownies, and "Dave time!"

hehe...never mind. ;)

--------------------------------------------------

Today Ashy came over to be with Johnny boy and do school with him. They went out and took a kitty photo shoot. Johnny was glad to help the cats pose and "Say Cheese." haha....

School is done, and now on to music and things. It's a good, productive day so far. Looking forward to time tonight at Jeannie's house for a party with the gals! Pictures maybe?! :)

All for now,

Megs

It's a Monday!

Hey all ~
Well, Monday has rolled around again. It's been a full one of school, music, chuzins(as always, right?), and preparations for the rest of this crazy week. It's been a beautiful day, and I'm looking forward spending the evening outdoors. Tonight is Family Night, and Joel and Ash will be coming over as usual. Carl (Joel's brother) will also be coming out tonight which will make it extra fun. :) We'll take a nice walk around the farm, and come back in for "Dave Time!" (Don't ask...) hehe

Sunday was lovely, overall. Interesting events occurred, (as almost always!), but God is still in control, and He knows what's best. Choir practice in the evening went well, and it was extra special to see some good friends there that I hadn't seen in too long a time! So glad you came, Abby and Zeke! :D
Now it's back into school again for an exciting, full week ahead. So much coming up -- I'll do my best to keep you updated and things come by.

I pray you all have a safe, wonderful week, and I will look forward to seeing you soon!

(And this is just too sweet... I loved it. :) One of the blessings of having little kids around a house.:)

Till next time,

Meg

Third Day Farm ~ Jeannie Nights

Living on the farm is one of the best things I have ever experienced. All the memories with the chuzins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. All the four wheeler rides and hikes and camping trips. All the sandbox adventures to China and Italy with JoJo Blinkie -- so many good times. Jeannie Nights are one of the most thrilling parts of our lives out here too...every week, when all the clan gets together to have some kind of adventure together.

This past week, we decided to go a-hiking. :)

It's a crazy bunch, but we like it pretty well. ;)

I love having the little gals dress-up-costumes in this one..that sure is a memory. I can't count how many times we played "poor girls" as little kids. We used to think up such adventures and stories all around the barns and woods....:)

 haha...what a group!

That's m' buddy. Reagano da Rissano.

"Yeah, we're from the country and we like it that way."  ;)

All for now, enjoy the rest of your Sunday afternoon!

News and lately-ness....:)

So, surprise! -- we have four more kittens. No, this was not in the plan. We are now up to 19 cats. Yeah, 19. That's right, 19. Anybody want an adorable little kitten???!!! ;)
Seriously though....
That wasn't really my surprise though.. I got to go to the school today! Yup, the old school house...back from when I was a kid. ;) hehe....had to do some stuff there, and it was fun to get to go in and see everybody! (most everybody....) Got to hang out with my old little buddies---Ali, Beccah, Susanna, and Levi! They gave me a Twinkie and a jar of bugs...not to shabby, right? Anyway, I'm sure that you all don't really think that's all that exciting, but I had seriously been missing the school and it was fun to go back for a while. :) Anyway...back to life as we know it.

jukjkjjkjkjjhh7y65h7huuby7ynrflim i ,(sorry, little brother just attacked the keyboard....:)

BUT that really isn't anything too exciting compared to what is about to happen NOW!! Oh yes.....Guess who's coming to spend the night tonight??!!!

JOSHUAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My bro is coming home! We are frantically excited, as it was last minute, and we can't wait for him to get here and have a bit of the old times.

Speaking of his arrival, I had better go help out with the preparations. :) (this is a BIG deal!!)

So, see y'all later,

Meg
Guess what I get to do in 3 hours???! I can't tell you yet. :) It's a surprise! But I really can't wait and maybe I can show pictures later. ;) So keep watching!

And this...just because, well, I guess you could say I've been thinking about the Fine Linens a lot lately. ;) AHH! I miss you all!

It's a Friday

Ah ~ can it be the last day of the first week of school?! Time flies--and yes, I've been having fun. ;) I am so excited getting into all my books and looking at all the things I'll be diving into this year.
The kids are loving school as well. It's so fun coming down for break times and listening to them asking questions with Mama at the table and watching them do their papers....Johnny's favorite subject is "cutting." Oh, the joys of a wild-four-year-old boy!! :D
One thing I had especially missed from home last year was the ability to just take a walk in the middle of a school day ~ just to take a break and chill for a minute. ;) It's soo nice to get up and walk through the woods after a difficult subject, come back in refreshed and ready to complete my studies.
God is good -- I am so thankful for everything He has blessed us with. I can't imagine living in times when girls couldn't go to school....! And aside from books and teachers and such, just look at all God teaches us each and every day. And how much I have to learn! If you've ever doubted His patience, you can trust that it is true, for He hasn't given up on me yet. :D

Have a wonderful day, and work your best for the Lord! I pray He blesses you with a happy, lovely day. :)

Ashlyn came down to visit! She's been a good friend for a long while, and is now related to us by being Ash's niece. ;) Fun times....

Miss you already, Ash! Hope Thanksgiving comes soon! haha. :)

Poll Results

Okay folks -- you all were very cooperative in voting on the poll of "What would you like to see more."..now I have only a few more questions to ask you in order to really give an effort on the improvement of this blog:

You voted the highest for "personal stories" and "friends."

Now, in order to really make this more enjoyable for you, I need to clarify your definition of those two topics. What is it you would like to see?

First day of school and other thoughts...

Today is our first day back to school here at the Riefer Family Home School. It's going wonderfully so far, with only a few glitches here and there, which is to be expected with our crazy family. ;) It's good to be home and with the kids during the day, and I know that this is really where God wants me to be this year. I don't know all that it holds, but I pray I may glorify Him in every minute.
At the same time, I miss LCA. There are parts of being there that are just not the same at home and that I am finding I miss very much. :/ I am missing break times with Mr. Enrico Tortilini of Prosaic, New Jersey and his brother, Bob(the teeter-totters), dandelions every day, crazy hour long breaks, hugs and notes from the kindergartners, weird happenings at the scoring station, my wonderful teachers, and other sweet memories of being there everyday with all those people. Good times.

But I remind myself that there is a season for everything ~ my season at Landmark was good, and now He has me back home. I am eager to make new memories here and grow in my walk with the Lord and with my family.

I hope all of you are eager and ready to dive into this new school year, and I pray the Lord blesses you in your work!

Got to get back to work now,

Meg

It's a Friday

Hello pals,

Thanks for stopping by! Hope this post finds you well and happy! "Today was a day as all others. Full of those moments that...." Oh Papa, I just don't remember how it went. Sorry. Teach me again later. :)
I got to spend time with Ash today since she came out for a bit. So good to see her, chat, and do sister stuff for a while.:) Love ya, darlin! As usual on Summer days, chuzins were all about here and there all over the farm, and I was "designated chuzin watcher" of Sarah, Cass, and Stephie. We danced to the Isaacs while I did the dishes and such. (And the trash...another reason to really miss Josh being at home;)
The weekend looks to be full and busy. Tomorrow I shall begin by some yard-work down below the barns, then mowing the massive hill, pulling weeds, moving hay bales and other farm chores. In the afternoon we'll be in town for some things, and I will get to see a very dear friend, Ashlyn, (Ash's niece) who I haven't seen in a long time! She is a fun gal and we always have good times together. I hope to bring home pictures from the afternoon! So keep watching. ;)
Now I say goodnight, and I'm off for movie night with the family. We feel very small tonight, with Stephie and David at chuzin sleepovers, and Josh and Ash out of the house...I am now the eldest in this home and it's just John, Jen, and myself here with the parents! Five seems small to a family who usually consists of ten. :)

Goodnight now,

Meg

Recent Happenings and chuzins

It's been sooo nice out lately. The kids and I went out yesterday and played around in the trees and making homemade grenades. (yeah....farm kids don't need toys when they've got walnut trees!)

 One of John boy's grenades...;)

David behind the camera is a scary thing...:)

So then right around supper time we all went down for a special Jeannie Night. PaPa's birthday! We celebrated by swimming in the "other McCluskey's" pool and eating cake/ice-cream back at Jeannie and Papa's, and finally opened presents and cards and such. It was a nice evening.

 Chuzzies!!
 Gracie and me...and Kelsey's finger.

 Drew chuz, aka, Romeo. :)

Happy Birthday, Papa! You're the best grandpa in the "wide-wide world!" :)
