It's a Tuesday

A photo/event catch up:
Oliver! set STRIKE:

Messing around in the costume shop! Lena and her fab suspenders.

People pyramid!

Sad to see it come down, but exciting looking forward to the next show adventure!

The Beanie.

And then came the great phone catastrophe. My phone was having some issues....and the amazing Chuzin Colin came to my aid. I spent hours with this guy at the computer and on the phone until it was fixed. He's the best. He even did our dishes. Yeah, so if you have tech problems, he's the man.

------------------------------------------------
Uncle Chris came to town! I LOVE this guy....we are two of a kind. We have tons of fun together and I only wish he lived closer so we could hang out more. It was great to see him and we had a wonderful afternoon - I miss him! We had quite the time testing some pretty incredible Texas-imported cakes..

----------------------------------------
It's been too long. I pulled out these friends the other day after too long a break...and boy, was it fun picking again! I'd missed it.

And, as always, a post isn't complete without this kid:

Thanks for stopping by!
All for now,

Some woods and some cousins

A couple weeks ago we had several good (much needed!) rains. Combined with the melted snow, the little ravine was running like a little creek, so the four of us girls met and climbed under the fence to explore down it.

I wish so badly it flowed all the time! We had such fun.

The make believe air plane...any chuzzies recognize what that's from? :-)

Some woods and some cousins...makes for a perfect adventure.

::It's a tuesday

It's a Tuesday, and the week is already rolling!
Today Daddy's got Mother hopping all over town on an early Valentine scavenger hunt with her good friend, Mrs. Brown. He went to a bunch of different stores, teamed up with Mr. Brown, to set everything up with the next "clues" and gifts. It's been so funny watching these husbands' excitement and planning. :-)
Around here it's a couple head colds, and normal business. So, I actually have a couple minutes to load up a couple recent pictures. Thanks for stopping in!

A girl party at the theater during rehearsal..in the bathroom..where we can actually make noise and giggle and chat without disturbing practice too much. These ladies are gems! (LtoR: Lena, me, Miss Amy, Bethany, Jen, and Tessie)

Serenading Tessie girl in between scenes. Her expression here...:-)

Getting ready to SITZPROBE! We got to rehearse with our fantastic orchestra this past week..and OH, it's pretty exciting!
---------------------------------------------
In non-theater times:
The Ohian Meg's and my very intelligent Skyping skills......

We couldn't quite get the cameras to work right, and it finally hung up on us, but it was so fun to see her face(or..eye) for just a bit and catch up!

All for now - hope you all are having a marvelous Tuesday. Jenny just discovered a chocolate milk-making-straw...I think I'll go join her.

It's a Friday

It's finally Friday. Usually, I'm not somebody who particularly cares which day of the week it is...I mean, goodness, I have the chance to live each one fully, same as the next! But this week, I am especially happy to see Friday today. It means my Father is coming home. And the business trip all week made the weekend a long ways coming.
Well, I've been rather scatter brained about posting lately, and taking pictures. But, though they be random and far between, I have been taking them, and so here comes just some recentness. Thanks for stopping by!
Oh, and please, enjoy your Friday. :-)

Getting a hair cut is serious business..this child's buzzed hair is softer than a bunny. Feel it sometime, he doesn't mind.
Watching the kids' basketball game with the little man!

Making verse "scrolls."
-----------------------------------------
So, this week was also my birthday.
My 17th birthday.
I tend to be rather a hyper little kid about birthdays...and was especially excited about this year. I don't really know why, but I've been ecstatic waiting for my big day. And February 6th finally came round! Yay!

^a birthday card made by Stephanie. Yup, seventeen candles. Too sweet.
My family blesses me, you know that? No party, no cake, no presents on this day. With Daddy away on business, we have to hold off birthday "festivities" until later in the month, so it was really just a normal day. But all through the day, they never let me forget that they think I'm special by showering me with cards and "I love you's" and hugs and "happy birthdays."
I slept in(another gift!), and enjoyed breakfast in bed thanks to Jen, complete with a cookie and candle. I was sung the happy birthday song, traditional and Barbie version.

I got calls and messages from Chuzzies and Uncle Michael, singing the Dumbo happy birthday song, the mmbirthday song, and more. Not to mention all the sweet birthday messages throughout the day from my amazing friends. Blessed? Completely.

Oh, still more. My Daddy left orders for flowers to be delivered to me, even though he couldn't be here.

This is how I do a 17th birthday. School in a princess gown. Happy day. I love you all. Thank you for making my day so special.
------------------------------------------------
And a project I'm working on. To most of you, this is a doily. But for me, this means a surprise is in the works. And I can hardly contain my excitement until I can burst it out.

That's that for now. Tonight it's off to the theater for the big SITZPROBING(look it up), more practice tomorrow, basketball games, Josh coming home, to the recording studio, and Drama Force. Till then,

M

A barefoot walk on the farm, swinging on the set, in mid December.

I call that splendid. And now, we await the snow.

I'm pretty sure it's just us..

Are you ready for the story?
We were both born in different parts Florida, where we lived  until we were about three, but we never knew each other. We both moved to the same part of Missouri and that's when our families met.
I thought Tessie Hamacher was the most fantastict little girl ever, but oh so snooty and bossy! Well it turns out, she thought the same of me. We kind of avoided each other whenever we saw one another, until we were both cast in Fine Linen Drama's You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown when we were nine years old, both as "Lucy"..go figure. We actually became friends and one night at a rehearsal I asked her to be my pen pal - we wrote little notes to give each other at every practice, and in her first note she asked me if I wanted to be best friends forever.
Bunches of adventures and laughs and sleepovers and pictures and hugs and stories later, we're still best friends and now having a blast in our 10th show together. Isn't that a precious story? But truly. She's stuck with me through thick and thin, good and bad, has seen my best and worst, and I couldn't ask for a better friend. I love her bunches, and plan on many, many more years of being "friends forever!"

*The serious pose*

.It's a Monday.

Three Dr. Seuss shirts!(Joy, Anna, and Jenny)
It was wonderful to have Joel, Hillary, Kayla, Nathan, and Josh at church yesterday, either from college or work. The Quakkelaars had friends visiting as well, so it was a good, packed service, and afterwards, a fun time of fellowship. Good friends are such a blessing!

After church, lunch, and picking the perfect "Sweeta Potato" picture for Joy, lots of us went outside for a big game of kickball.

Also, meet Paul. Thank you Anna, for his head. He lived a good life until Anna had the audacity to eat him.

....Malachi let me wear his really nice hat.

----------------------------------------------
Joel and Ash(and Evs!) come over most Sunday evenings for supper and a fun evening together. It's so nice having them live close to us. Evan gets bigger everyday and it's such fun watching him grow up. It's hard to believe it was already a year ago we were waiting for those last few weeks before he would be born. What a big boy he is now, and very active! He likes to make as much noise as possible and is standing without help some of the time. Ash is good to update with pictures and videos on her blog HERE.

Johnny playing with big brother-in-law.

Last Sunday evening PaPa and Jeannie came up too - Evan sure had a fun time with Great Grandpa!

Look there! JOSH was able to come home too! Such a good evening of family time before the new week.God is so good.

Mr. Chubs.

Rehearsals run in full force. The last couple weeks have been a mix of Oliver and Little Women both, but now Oliver will take a break so that the theater is open for the last few weeks of heavy Little Women rehearsals before opening night. Did I mention I can't wait for that?!

(First stages of set construction back there!) Jason(our director)'s doing his best to see if I can sprain my neck and ankle in another of his shows, having me run up and down stairs and 6ft platforms...so far, so good though. :-)

Tonight is the first full-run-through of the show. It's going to be a long, exciting practice. Full cast, full show. I can't wait to see how it's all coming together. Also, getting to see all those wonderful people all night is quite a bonus to it all!

Right now I have two little kids in my room licking clean their breakfast bowls, which means it's time for me to get to dishes and start this busy Monday. There was a beautiful sunrise this morning to bring in the new week - thank you Lord, and on to the big day!
