It's a Tuesday

Time to catch up with a round of pictures.
Big news on the farm: Oliver! the Musical opens this Thursday, and SNOW. Lots of snow!

Johny boy all bundled up and ready to head out with the chuzzies.

Best chuzins. Cassia, David, and Braden.
(Snow picture credit goes to Clara!)

Happy girl. So good to see that smile! Uncle Michael brought a bunch of the kids up and made it so much more fun for all of them. (Uncles always do, don't they?!) He and Stephie went rip-roaring down the icy hill several times, cracking up the whole way.

In other happenings::
1) May I present Mr. Cupid himself. The ham, on Valentine's Day.

Smolder. He's got it down.

2) Birthday parties:: A 17th Kipper party, planned by my family. Celebration with family and Chuzins.

Can we give three cheers for my incredible cake-decorating mother?? YES!

Blessed beyond belief.
----------------------------------------------
3) Craftiness::
Leftover crazy colored yarn? *Hurray for super fun scarves!* Just finished one this week....and now I'm quite excited to sort through the other piles of unused yarn and see what we can come up with for more fun projects.

::Haircuts. Josh looks terrified and uncertain. But trust me, it was a fabulous cut.

::Cathedral painting. The set for Oliver is now omplete! (These pictures show the cathedral in progress...the finished product will be posted soon.)

It's dress rehearsals every night(with snow storms in between) and then opening on Thursday. Prayers for a healthy cast and safe roads would be much appreciated, and make sure you come out for a performance! It'll be a busy, full week, and after that, lots of theater pictures will follow. :-)
Stay warm, friends!

::It's a tuesday

It's a Tuesday, and the week is already rolling!
Today Daddy's got Mother hopping all over town on an early Valentine scavenger hunt with her good friend, Mrs. Brown. He went to a bunch of different stores, teamed up with Mr. Brown, to set everything up with the next "clues" and gifts. It's been so funny watching these husbands' excitement and planning. :-)
Around here it's a couple head colds, and normal business. So, I actually have a couple minutes to load up a couple recent pictures. Thanks for stopping in!

A girl party at the theater during rehearsal..in the bathroom..where we can actually make noise and giggle and chat without disturbing practice too much. These ladies are gems! (LtoR: Lena, me, Miss Amy, Bethany, Jen, and Tessie)

Serenading Tessie girl in between scenes. Her expression here...:-)

Getting ready to SITZPROBE! We got to rehearse with our fantastic orchestra this past week..and OH, it's pretty exciting!
---------------------------------------------
In non-theater times:
The Ohian Meg's and my very intelligent Skyping skills......

We couldn't quite get the cameras to work right, and it finally hung up on us, but it was so fun to see her face(or..eye) for just a bit and catch up!

All for now - hope you all are having a marvelous Tuesday. Jenny just discovered a chocolate milk-making-straw...I think I'll go join her.

It's a Friday

It's finally Friday. Usually, I'm not somebody who particularly cares which day of the week it is...I mean, goodness, I have the chance to live each one fully, same as the next! But this week, I am especially happy to see Friday today. It means my Father is coming home. And the business trip all week made the weekend a long ways coming.
Well, I've been rather scatter brained about posting lately, and taking pictures. But, though they be random and far between, I have been taking them, and so here comes just some recentness. Thanks for stopping by!
Oh, and please, enjoy your Friday. :-)

Getting a hair cut is serious business..this child's buzzed hair is softer than a bunny. Feel it sometime, he doesn't mind.
Watching the kids' basketball game with the little man!

Making verse "scrolls."
-----------------------------------------
So, this week was also my birthday.
My 17th birthday.
I tend to be rather a hyper little kid about birthdays...and was especially excited about this year. I don't really know why, but I've been ecstatic waiting for my big day. And February 6th finally came round! Yay!

^a birthday card made by Stephanie. Yup, seventeen candles. Too sweet.
My family blesses me, you know that? No party, no cake, no presents on this day. With Daddy away on business, we have to hold off birthday "festivities" until later in the month, so it was really just a normal day. But all through the day, they never let me forget that they think I'm special by showering me with cards and "I love you's" and hugs and "happy birthdays."
I slept in(another gift!), and enjoyed breakfast in bed thanks to Jen, complete with a cookie and candle. I was sung the happy birthday song, traditional and Barbie version.

I got calls and messages from Chuzzies and Uncle Michael, singing the Dumbo happy birthday song, the mmbirthday song, and more. Not to mention all the sweet birthday messages throughout the day from my amazing friends. Blessed? Completely.

Oh, still more. My Daddy left orders for flowers to be delivered to me, even though he couldn't be here.

This is how I do a 17th birthday. School in a princess gown. Happy day. I love you all. Thank you for making my day so special.
------------------------------------------------
And a project I'm working on. To most of you, this is a doily. But for me, this means a surprise is in the works. And I can hardly contain my excitement until I can burst it out.

That's that for now. Tonight it's off to the theater for the big SITZPROBING(look it up), more practice tomorrow, basketball games, Josh coming home, to the recording studio, and Drama Force. Till then,

M

Of rehearsals

Oliver rehearsals are heavy, and Drama Force's "Secret of the Scrolls" has begun practicing as well, which makes for lots of theater time! Here are just a few pictures from recent Oliver practices -
Above: Cheyenne, Bethany, and me

Gracie, me, and Tess waiting for our scene...and laughing..and sleeping...and laughing again.

Meditation with Adler. We give lessons, once a month, $20 per class.

Two tired(but having a blast!) Rose Dancers getting ready to run the number again!
-----------------------------------------
And guess what? The set is going up! The orchestra loft was built last week, and we're really excited to get our fantastic orchestra up and running there. Most of the construction is finished, and now to paint, detail, and put together. We've had several set painting days this month....pictures of the final product to be posted soon!

On Monday a group of us went over to the theater to work on painting some of the stones on the sets of stairs - we got a lot covered and had bunches of fun.

Getting there! More painting and rehearsals this week. Make sure you come see Oliver! the Musical in Feb/March - it's going to be a great show!
All for now -

Of A Sunday afternoon

This past Sunday afternoon the Chuzins down the hill had our good friends, the Pfiefers and Larsens, out to the farm for an adventure. We decided it was the perfect day to explore the woods, so we headed out to the fields.
Above: Explorer faces.

The expedition began with visiting the goats(the babies are getting so big!) and all going down inside the root cellar. LtoR: Drew, me, Beth, Jorin, Nathan, Steven (front): Sarah, Jantzen, Jen, and Gracie, and Colin taking the photo.

Running out to the cave - we all climbed up the bank to eat the icicles and explore above the cave.

Real friends!
My elephant slaves, Colin and Jorin. :-)

Back inside we enjoyed amazing snacks made by the Larsens, and the guys tried to master a four-way push up. The girls tried too...but it didn't exactly work out so well. ;-)

All in all, a most successful Sunday afternoon expedition.
Thankful for good friends.
