Vacation!

This Sunday after church we're going on vacation to Florida!!! We'll be back on the 14th of June. We used to live in Florida for about ten years so we have a lot of friends to visit there. So, as you can emagine, our week has been filled with packing, doing laundry, and cleaning:) We will try to post pictures along the way, but we'll be pretty busy. I'll do my best. Rest assured though, we will have LOTS of pictures:)!!!

Remember, you hopped in the Hickle's van with all of us, and we were ready to go, bet then you said, "Oh, I forgot my lunch!!" So, we said you had 60 seconds to go back in and get your lunch, come out and pose for a picture, and get back in the van!!

Soo...here is the picture...:)

What fun memories. That was a good trip. Thanks for coming with all of us crazy people...and for singing Prince and Pauper songs with us!!! lol! :)

A JUG for Johnny

This morning while eating breakfast, Johnny boy kept calling for something he pronounced as "JUTCH." After hollering for "jutch" several times, Josh asked, "What is it you want, John?"

David said, "I know what he wants! When Johnny says, JUTCH, he means he wants a GUJ."

We ALL asked, "And what is a GUJ???"

David's reply, "You know, like what you put water into for dinner.

We all laughed.

On Our Adoption

Over the last several months, I have been compiling a list of verses that are "proof" of my adoption into the family of God. It has been such an encouragement to me in my walk with Christ to see all the places where He talks of wanting me to join His household! God's greatest desire is to be our closest Friend, our All in All, our Daddy! Amazing thoughts...

"For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the spirit of sonship. And by Him we cry, 'Abba, Father.' The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children." (Romans 8:15-17)

"It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, Who has become for us wisdom from God - that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption." (1 Cor. 1:30)

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me." (Galatians 2:20)

"For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world... In love... He adopted [us] as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, Who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession - the praise of His glory." (Ephesians 1:4,5,13,14)

"But because of His great love for us, God, Who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions - it is by grace you have been saved. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household." (Ephesians 2:4,5,13,19)

There are many more passages that speak of God's astounding love and mercy toward us; these are only a few that I have found so far. The joy in my heart is great as I consider my belonging - as a child - to the Creator of all!

Nature ~ the butterfly

Butterflies are such a beautiful thing...!


I love the blue on its wing!

There are always soo many butterflies on our phlox...but for some reason they never sit still long enough for me to get a good picture:)!!

Nature ~ the bees

I found some bees on our lilac bush and ran to grab the camera! They didn't seem at all camera shy, so I took a bunch!!:)

Very handsome. He knew it too:)!!

He helped give the kitties their milk. Very big boy stuff indeed.

Johnny leaned over and tried the milk for himself..the kitty shoved him away though;)
