Psalm 127:3-5 declares, "Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate."
Every time I read these verses, I think of all the big homeschooling families that we know. It is interesting to picture each of the fathers as warriors in the kingdom of God, with their children as the ammunition that He has armed them with! His Word says that the man whose quiver is full of arrows is to be considered blessed. The Lord also promises that the father will not be put to shame when dealing with the enemies of this world. We as homeschoolers face opposition in many ways, and realize that it will be even more difficult for future generations to follow in this path. But our loving Father has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be still and know that I am God." We can rest assured that no matter what trials we may face in this life, He is faithful to guide and protect His own. And let us remember to daily give thanks for the precious children that the Lord has blessed us with!
