Above: the old shed was thrown onto the roof and dented the gray barn pretty badly...we're so grateful it didn't go through, though!
Where the little shed used to sit...
Several years ago, we four girls (me, Gracie, Jen, and Kelsey) made that shed our own clubhouse. We went down to the creek bed and gathered lots of rocks and painted them together, and took them to the shed. We spent so many days that summer fixing the shed up, cleaning it out, hanging things up, and decorating it, making it our own secret hideout. I'm sad to see it destroyed - but more to be grateful for, the rocks are saved, just tossed around the houses.
The remains of the shed -
Many old trees were destroyed too. There's hardly a place on this farm that we don't have some special memory at, and those trees were a special refuge to little "poor orphans" who used to store food in them, and made them their homes. It's sad to see them be cut down....
Our farm is nothing compared to our poor neighbor's, who's barn is completely flat and who lost many more trees and such. We'd appreciate prayer for him as he restores his farm, and also for the several families who lost loved ones in the storm.
Praise be to the Lord, for His love, protection, and goodness!
