Follies 2012 - Stepsisters

As part of our contract with OAT this summer from Wizard of Oz, Tess and I had Follies to perform in. Follies is a talent show put on by the actors of the summer season with individual acts. Tessie and I put our heads together and decided we'd be Cinderella's gaudy stepsisters singing "Stepsister's Lament" from Cinderella the Musical.

Last Monday we met at andFlew studios and began choreographing and working the music. We had a blast every day meeting for rehearsal, coming up with new ideas, laughing(of course...it's us) and making it our own version of the number.

Of course, on Friday a sleepover was in order, since we had to practice, had tech the next afternoon, and the show that next evening - ingenious, right? ;-) We met at the theater in the afternoon to pick up the rest of our costume stuff and run some errands...

Feathers, gloves, pearls - you should see some of the earrings they have in the costume shop - from fish to circles that cover your entire ear. It's crazy.

Next, to get our Chick Flick for the evening - Cinderella the Musical! Go figure. The cashier was pretty impressed by the way we payed for our video with pennies and nickles...

Then to Wal-Mart for groceries...and...pictures.

After our wild adventure we eventually made it to the Hamacher's -

We thought it would be wonderful to eat supper on the lake and watch the sunset, so we got loaded up and headed out - the guys(Jacob, Cody, Jake, and Greg) were going frogging later on, so we wanted to make sure and get our water time in.

Ahoy! We sail.

It was such a beautiful night. Eating delicious food, talking to a best friend, watching the sunset on the water - is that not living?

The next morning we had time to finalize our performance and get our props before tech at 2pm, followed by the show at 7pm. And the moment finally arrived....

Voila! The stepsisters.
The show went really well, we had such fun, made memories, and had a great time catching up with old cast mates. And now....the video. Hope you have as much fun watching it as we did putting it together, but that's nearly impossible. :-) Thanks for viewing! Hope you get a laugh.
