The grand mud expedition

Mother sick in bed all day, Jen busy working, and several kids bored "out of their brains." It's gorgeous outside. Called up some cousins, got our grubbies on, and we all trudged down the the trenches, which were full of muddy water from all the rains. We played for hours and got muddier, and muddier. I didn't get a stitch of school done ...but I say it was one of the greatest days ever.

 It wasn't till I got them up to the house and began cleaning them all up that I realized that it maybe wasn't the smartest of ideas...but it was so worth it. A bit later and they were all showered up, in fresh clothes, the floor mopped, muddy clothes hosed and in the wash, and a bundle of happy kids watching a movie all cozy.
 A very fine day.
